I know this stuff probably looks really loud and absurd, but the social moments in this cartoon's specifically based on things that happened during a year I rented in a ritzy neighborhood in 2021 with circumstances rearranged. Awkward racial comments during and after being thoroughly sexually harassed at a coffee shop. 2 separate occasions where white women yards away made eye contact with me and took off running down the block - unprovoked, no prior interaction. Looots and looots of badly concealed staring and being followed in stores. Etc, etc. This is just all kind of shit that's pretty common to being black in the states, it's not "on the nose" when it's a few times a month in your life for 33 years haha.
